The Blood Tribe Child Protection Services is delegated by the Minister of Children’s Services to carry out the provisions of the Child Youth and Family Enhancement Act on the Blood Reserve.
Blood Tribe Child Protection provide case management services to Band members both on and off the reserve.
Blood Tribe Child Protective Services provides comprehensive support and intervention for children and families in need. The program oversees the following services:
Supports children who require intervention due to reasonable and probable grounds that their survival, security, or development is at risk from abandonment, neglect, or physical, sexual, or emotional abuse.
Provides alternative care arrangements for children who cannot remain in their family homes.
Facilitates long-term stability through private guardianship and adoption services.
Assists young adults (ages 18-22) who have aged out of the Department’s care and require additional support.
Extends support to young adults up to their 26th birthday to help them transition successfully into independence.
