Position Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Case Work Supervisor of Blood Tribe Child Protection Services Corporation (BTCPSC); the Generalist/Youth Transition to Adulthood (YTA) Worker shall be responsible for carrying a Youth Transition to Adulthood (YTA) case load, as outlined in the Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Act (CYFE) and practice framework, serving Blood Tribe Youth between the ages of 16 years to 22 years. Experience working with First Nations children and families. Must be willing to work in a fast paced environment and flexible working hours, participating in the after-hours On-Call program. And any other duties deemed necessary by BTCPSC. The Generalist / YTA Worker will need to also follow the Kainaiwa Children’s Services Corporation Policy Manual in its entirety.

  • Responsible for gathering information via collateral contacts to determine the needs and degree of risk of harm to youth;
  • Generalist/YTA Worker will take the initiative to become familiar with all process carried out that supports youth in transitioning to adulthood;
  • Set goals and determine appropriate programs and services to meet the youth and family needs, make appropriate referrals for youth, i.e. ensure completion of Assessments required for youth to secure Adult Services such as PDD, AISH, Education application that include funding applications.
  • Provide smooth transition for the youth that includes a YTA plan.

Qualification: Bachelor of Social Work Degree or Diploma with direct experience an asset, or minimum of 2 years related experience. Or Related Human Services discipline with 3 years related experience may be considered.
